The Experience Design Building Blocks™ course takes place in-person in London, UK. It is led by Pigalle Tavakkoli, award-winning educator, trainer for global brands, and author.
The modules are based on the eight essential building blocks, design process and science-backed methods for designing transformative experiences, as outlined in her guidebook. You will also receive a complimentary copy of the guidebook to use throughout the course.
Instead of theories in a classroom, you will directly practice the methods in real world settings across cultural, scientific, retail and hospitality venues throughout central London. Each day involves a blend of visual slides, location-based exercises, group discussions, business case studies, and the latest in scientific research including neuroscience and psychology. You will carry out individual and collaborative exercises with a global cohort of professionals, cross-pollinate techniques from diverse industries, and develop fresh ways of thinking and delivering.
Whether you are early-stage career or a seasoned professional, you will be able to apply the approach to your events, products, services, spaces and communications to intentionally design experiences that truly capture hearts and minds for lasting impact.

DAY 1: Introduction to events vs. experiences, transformation strategy, spatial design and thresholds.
DAY 2: Transformation cycle, experience design principles and process, leadership archetypes and soft power skills, growth of the experience economy.
DAY 3: Experience design phases and process, audience research methods, carry out audience research and map findings for insights, define your project aims and transformation.
DAY 4: Science of emotions and memory, emotional journey design, story and narrative structures.
